A while ago, I was all about Social Media.

Blogging seemed (and still does to some people) old school and I’m not even talking about list building. Then entered some amazing mentors of mine (Hello Amy Porterfield, Jenna Kutcher, Marie Forleo and more!) and now it seems OBVIOUS to build an email list when you are an entrepreneur. No matter what your industry is : you NEED to consider building your email list.

Let me give you at least 3 reasons.

SOCIAL MEDIA DISAPPEARS TOMORROW

Listen : what if social media disappears tomorrow? Boom. All your followers gone. With an email list, you can upload and save their email addresses and all data related to them in a click.

You do not own Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. Your social media and SEO efforts can go to waste when these platforms change their policies. On the other hand, you own your email list, and it is not influenced by decisions of other businesses or even an algorithm.

BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FOLLOWERS

People read email in the privacy of their inbox. The message is not on a public timeline or newsfeed. They can ask you questions directly in private with confidence. This helps build trust and connection.

I like to imagine a conversation with my people when i write an email.

BUILD A LIST WITH YOUR ICA (Ideal Customer Avatar) iN MIND

Your ICA has already shown interest in your product or content. Since you already know what they like, you can deliver them highly relevant offers to get better results. For example, depending on my blog readers or social media followers, I can offer them blogging strategies, wellness tips or scrapbooking inspiration. It is as easy as that!

Friends, I know how frustrating it can be to want to need to make money from your blog + build an email list, but everything online keeps changing. (And it can be so hard to keep up!)
