HERE ARE SOME OF THE MANY REASONS WHY YOU’RE NOT PROGRESSING IN YOUR CAREER

Do you sometimes feel as though you just aren’t progressing as well as you could be in terms of your career? Maybe you ponder why everyone else in your family is way ahead of you and you want to do something about that. Either way, you can find whatever you need to know, right here.

You Always Procrastinate

This may sound obvious, but if you are always putting things off then you certainly won’t achieve as much as you could. Procrastinating may mean that you miss opportunities and that you are less prepared for whatever comes your way. People who have everything together and who don’t procrastinate may be viewed as being keener, far more reliable and even more ambitious in general. What’s more, is that they don’t miss out on fantastic opportunities or the chance to be noticed when it comes to getting things done. If you want to progress in your career, then you have to make sure that you are getting things done and that you are not putting things off.

You Lack Career Confidence

Sometimes, thinking about doing something and actually doing it can mean the difference between you getting a promotion and not. If you lack confidence then sometimes you might be perceived as being lazy and this is the last thing that you need. It may be that you are afraid to put yourself out there and that you just feel as though everyone else will think you are silly. Either way, you have to make sure that you have the confidence to really put yourself forwards when it really matters and that you also have the courage to reach for brand-new heights. You never know, it may just change your life. Remember that if you don’t take any risks then you may never know what the outcome might have been. When you look at the most successful people in the world, you will soon find that they took risks and that most of them have also suffered from some form of rejection.

A Promotion Is Not what you Truly Want

Being successful should really make you happy. Think about it, would stepping up on the career ladder really fulfil you? Or do you feel as though you have moved on? Not everyone has the same career goals throughout their lives., If you feel as though you have lost your passion and that you are just doing what you should be, then this may be reflected in your job performance. It may also be that you are content in the position that you have now, and that you don’t want the additional pressure of having a promotion. If this is the case then you need to know that there is nothing wrong with standing still if it makes you happy, and that there is nothing wrong with taking a brand-new direction. As long as you are happy and as long as you listen to your heart then this is all that matters.

You’re Disorganised

Some people hamper their success because they are just far too disorganised. It may be that you wanted to apply for a great opportunity but left it too late, or that you just didn’t apply yourself as much as you could have done. Another sign that you are disorganised is if you are constantly distracted by your phone, or if you constantly find any excuse to get out of work. If this sounds like you then now is the time for you to apply yourself. It is a proven fact that you will never be your most productive if your mind is all over the place. All of the other stuff can wait- and the more you practice this, the easier it will be to maintain a standard of self-discipline. Sometimes disorganisation isn’t just about trying to get out of work, sometimes it’s about trying to take on too much at once. You may end up with loose ends or you may find that you just never see your ideas come to fruition.  If you want to help yourself here then you need to try and focus on the task that you have in front of you, and then complete it. Prioritise everything in order of importance and never allow yourself to be distracted by external affairs.

You Just Don’t Believe in Yourself

You should always try and believe in yourself. If you don’t then nobody else will either. Putting out great vibes will always make a difference. If you find that you just doubt yourself too much then you will put doubt in the minds of others. After all, it’s risky to count on someone who doesn’t even believe in their own abilities. At the end of the day, you have to remember that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. That is, of course, human nature, but if you highlight your own weak points then this will divert the attention away from your strengths. If you are struggling with your own self-belief then you can help yourself then Regis College have plenty of courses that you can enrol on. When you do, you will soon be able to push the boundaries of your skills and you can also really make others believe in you too.
