WHY IS YOUR WEBSITE NOT GAINING SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS?
Social media engagement is super important. If you don’t feel as though you are gaining social media followers then this shows that something needs to change, and quickly. If you don’t make the right change at the right time, then you may find that your entire business growth is stunted, and this can really make it hard for you to establish yourself as being a leader in your chosen industry.
Your Customers do not Know you’re Online
If you are a brick and mortar business then you need to think about all the ways you can let your customers know that you are online. You can do this by putting your social media handle on their receipt or you can even send out an email blast. It may also be wise for you to have some table tents setup. Either way, you need to put the work in to show them that they can follow you. If you have a website and a blog, then you have to make sure that your social media links show up somewhere on the site. You can do this in the footer, or the header. If you want to take things to that next level then it is wise for you to have a share button on your blog post, so if someone likes your post, they can post it to their own social media profile.
You’re Spamming
Nobody likes spammy accounts. Take a look at yours and find out how spammy you might be. It may be that you are posting photos that are not high-quality or that you are posting the same message over and over again. On top of this, you may even find that your captions are all hashtags. If you are posting things that are too salesy, then this will go against you far more than you realise.
You Post too Often
If you post too often then you will annoy your audience because you will fill up their feed too much. If you do not post enough then you may find that you end up losing fans. Every account and every industry is unique at the end of the day, so you really do need to find that perfect balance if possible. Publishers and news outlets can easily get away with posting several times a day, but this will not work for your own company. Three posts per week should give you the chance to gain followers very organically. Remember you can use UX metrics on your social media pages to find out how much engagement you are getting.
Your Timing is Bad
Timing is everything. This is especially the case with social media. If you post the right thing at the right time, then this will mean the difference between getting hundreds of impressions and thousands. You need to try and use built-in analytics if possible as this will help you to see which of your posts are doing well and which ones aren’t, so it’s always worth looking into.
